There he worked both as a Project Manager and as Chief Engineer.<\/p>\n<p>In 1998 he switched to commercial sea shipping and started sailing as Chief Engineer on board of ocean-going tankers. He subsequently worked as a technical Superintendent at the same tanker company.<\/p>\n<p>From 2006 until 2012 he gained wide experience as maritime and technical surveyor at a Rotterdam based survey company.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, he held various management positions, including Manager Ship Management at a Dutch tanker company and as Technical Director at a Shipping company in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>As of 1 March 2021, Rob returned to the maritime and technical surveyor profession and we are pleased that he is strengthening the Doldrums team.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Specialities Rob<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hull and machinery surveys in the broadest sense<\/li>\n<li>Superintendency on repair and new building<\/li>\n<li>Technical investigations into damage caused in complicated technical matters<\/li>\n<li>On- and off-hire surveys of hull and machinery<\/li>\n<li>Pre-entry surveys for Underwriters<\/li>\n<li>Project management and support<\/li>\n<li>Condition and appraisal surveys for purchase and sale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Memberships<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Royal Netherlands Association of Technicians in Shipping (KNVTS)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After completion of his technical education at the Royal Dutch Navy, Rob Schipper served for 11 years with the Submarine Service.
